Our Mission

The aim  إن شاء الله [InshaAllah] of the South Australia Muslim Funeral Services (SAMFS) is to reduce the burial costs to an affordable price range for all of the Muslim Ummah in Adelaide and South Australia.

The costs for Muslim funerals are increasing year on year and there are a number of families that find it difficult to pay for this Islamic requirement.

The approach that we’ve adopted, is to use the collective power of the Ummah to contribute to each other’s funeral costs through a subscription-based model, with a start-up minimum of 500 members  إن شاء الله [InshaAllah]. Obviously, the more members the easier it makes it to meet the growing costs.

There are people however, who because of their circumstances, will not become members either because they are affluent enough to meet their own costs اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ‎ (Alhamdulillah) or because they cannot afford the subscriptions اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ‎ (Alhamdulillah). SAMFS will encourage those that can afford their burial costs to become members but will also reach out to others to donate (give a SADAKA) towards those that cannot afford this, so that SAMFS can help as best as they can when needed.

The secondary objective is to try and create Muslim Cemeteries across Adelaide / South Australia where possible, with the objective to reduce the costs even further  إن شاء الله [InshaAllah].

We have the support of the Masjids and the Imams in Adelaide to assist us in this, to advise us and to train our volunteers اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ‎ (Alhamdulillah).
